Reach for the sky with helium from Air Products. Lighter than air and easier to handle than hydrogen, helium is the gas of choice for a variety of lifting applications, from toy balloons to weather balloons, to hot air balloons and blimps. Helium can also be used in high-elevation blimps, which show potential to support cellular communication and protect against illegal border incursions.
Helium: The non-flammable alternative Hydrogen is the lightest gas. Helium is twice as dense as hydrogen, but it is still much lighter than all the other gases, including air. And it offers a significant advantage over hydrogen: helium is non-flammable.
Extensive experience and reliable supply Air Products has a long history of providing helium and helium know-how to its customers in the aviation and aerospace industries, as well as the healthcare, electronics and other markets. Today, Air Products is the largest producer and provider of helium and a leader in innovative technology for helium delivery and recovery.
Perfect for parties Whether you're inflating birthday party balloons, balloon bouquets or using balloons to decorate a venue for a large event or promotion, Air Products balloon helium cylinders are all you need.
Our unique Balloonium® cylinder range has made the handling of balloon gas cylinders an easy, safe and economical experience. With up to 50% more gas in cylinders that are smaller and lighter than the industry standard, our 300 bar balloon helium cylinders could save you time and money.
Portable helium purifier improves blimp operations Over time, air and moisture penetrate a blimp's membrane, or skin, and dilute the helium concentration. This contamination reduces lift and eventually compromises flight handling.
Air Products developed a portable helium purifier that draws a blimp's helium through a membrane, recompresses it and sends it back into the blimp at optimum concentration levels for efficient flight. With 99-percent recovery efficiency, this technology minimizes wasted helium. Because the unit is mobile and can travel to the blimp, it helps increase available flying time. It also makes it easier to "refresh" the blimp's helium more frequently, keeping the helium purity within tight tolerances and further improving in-flight handling.
