Elemental/Leco Analysers

Using the optimum specialty gas and equipment with your Elemental Analyser will greatly improve the accuracy of your analytical results.

Elemental Analysers are commonly used in the analysis of a wide range of substances such as grains, yeast, malt, beer, foods, pet foods, tobacco, plastics, petrochemicals, fertilizers and pharmaceuticals. They are also commonly known by a variety of names such as LECO analysers, Organic Elemental analysers, Nitrogen/Protein analysers and CN, CHN, NS, CNS, CHNS, CHNSO analysers.

In this type of analysis the level of Nitrogen impurity in the reference and oxidant gas is usually critical, as it is commonly the nitrogen content of the sample which requires accurate detection and measurement. A high level of Nitrogen in the gas used can severely affect the accuracy of the analyser.

The Experis® specialty gases range from Air Products has been specially developed for the analytical user and includes ultra high purity gases with low critical impurity levels for this technique. We also offer a range of gas-handling equipment including high quality cylinder regulators, manifolds, valves and purge systems which will help to optimise the smooth operation and accuracy of your analysis.

The recommended gases and equipment for this application are listed below. Please note that our recommendation is based on common analytical requirements, so you may require a higher purity grade if analysing to lower concentrations or be able to use a lower purity grade if analysing to higher concentrations.
