Nitrogen

In certain regions, high BTU natural gas must be diluted to reach pipeline specifications. Nitrogen gas is used for this adjustment to the Wobbe Index. Nitrogen can be supplied from a dedicated air separation plant located at or near a customer's facility, owned, operated, and managed by Air Products or from a plant owned by the customer. Air Products' has produced over 1200 air separation plants and currently owns and operates over 300 air separation plants. We can help you optimize nitrogen usage for your BTU adjustment operation and can provide you with the most economical mode of supply based on your consumption patterns.

Floating LNG Process and Technology

Air Products' unique ability to integrate the liquefaction process design and the mechanical design of the main cryogenic heat exchanger leads to an optimization of performance and reliability in a floating, production, storage, and off-loading (FPSO) LNG plant. The MCHE is the heart of the natural gas liquefaction process and consists of one or more spiral-wound tube bundles housed within a single pressure shell. The tube bundles were design to provide a large amount of heat transfer area in a compact unit and permitting high operating pressures for greater process efficiency.The use of MCR® with a wound coil exchanger for liquefaction versus multiple brazed aluminum exchangers with associated cold boxes effectively reduces the deck space required by over 15%

Engineering Services / Field Services

Air Products offers a wide range of engineering services which form the basis for overall support of an LNG facility. (1)During the design of the LNG plant, Air Products provides the process design for the liquefaction facility, the detailed design of the plant area surrounding the MCR® Cryogenic Heat Exchanger, and review and consultation for the plant owner or general contractor. Air Products also provides advisory services to the owner and engineering contractor during exchanger shipment, and field construction activities and at the time of plant commissioning and start-up. Air Products provides advisory services during transportation, field installation, commissioning, training and start-up of the liquefaction system.(2) after start-up, Air Products offers field services that include technical assistance with diagnosing plant operating problems and the maintenance and repair of the main cryogenic heat exchanger. Diagnostic services can range from assisting with the collection and evaluation of performance test results to identify plant bottlenecks. Air Products' field servicing capability is a valuable extension to its equipment and helps to ensure long-term efficient and reliable operation of the plant.
