Airase® 4750V and 4800 Defoamers

Airase defoamersOur newest oil-based defoamers to satisfy your foam control needs.

Air Products’ Airase 4750V and 4800 oil-based defoamers are effective foam control additives and are particularly suitable for the control of foam in architectural coatings as well as in industrial coatings, inks, and adhesives. Both defoamers are designed for excellent film compatibility with sustained, long term defoaming performance.

Airase 4750V is a proprietary vegetable oil based defoamer whereas Airase 4800 is a 100% active, mineral oil based defoamer. These products do not contain added hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), or alkyl phenol ethoxylates (APEs). The recommended use level is between 0.1 and 1% of total formulation weight, but of course, the actual level depends on your requirements and the foaming characteristics of the particular resin system.

Balancing defoaming strength with system compatibility.

Finding an effective defoamer is a matter of balancing defoamer strength with system compatibility. With defoamers based on mineral oils, organic oils, siloxanes, and Air Products’ own unique Gemini molecules, we are able to offer the formulator a means to quickly optimize formulation performance, minimize reformulation time and effort, keep formulation costs under control, or simply find more environmentally preferred products.

Come meet us at the Eastern Coatings Show in Atlantic City, New Jersey June 1–4, 2015. Jeanine Snyder, Principal Application Chemist at Air Products, will present a paper that discusses defoamer performance in low VOC architectural paints. This paper will be presented from 11:00–11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 4.
