Composites—Wet Lay-up

Air Products supplies a full line of epoxy curatives for use in fabricating composite parts via the wet lay-up process. Wet lay up uses dry fibres positioned in a mould by hand to which the resin is poured over and rolled to ensure complete wetting of the fibre and removal of air bubbles. Our products offer good handling characteristics for ease of mixing and application along with development of high performance cured matrice.

Amicure PACM

Low-color, low-viscosity unmodified cycloaliphatic amine. Improved fracture toughness. Used in filament winding, wet lay-up laminating, casting, RIM, and pultrusion.

Ancamide 501

Amidoamine offering good cure under humid conditions. Very good adhesion to concrete and good chemical resistance. Used in trowelable flooring, concrete coatings and primers, patching compounds, and concrete adhesives.

Ancamide 502

Amidoamine offering faster cure. DOT noncorrosive. Used in trowelable flooring, concrete repair, and grouts.

Ancamide 503

Amidoamine offering faster gel time and thin film cure time than either ANCAMIDE™ 500 or 502 curing agents. DOT noncorrosive. Used in concrete coatings, flooring, concrete repair, and tile grouts.

Ancamide 507

Amidoamine offering fast cure with good water resistance for use alone or with polyamide adducts. Used in high-solids, anticorrosive coatings, concrete patching and floor mortars, adhesives, and patch kits.

Ancamine 1638

Modified aliphatic amine that combines low viscosity with good chemical resistance. Used in trowelable flooring, grouts, and as an accelerator and viscosity reducer for other amines.

Ancamine 1769

Modified aliphatic amine offering low shrinkage, vapor pressure and skin irritation potential. DOT noncorrosive. Used in electrical potting and casting, wet lay-up laminating, tooling, and adhesives.

Ancamine 1922A

Unmodified aliphatic amine offering excellent shock resistance, toughness, and resiliency. Good electrical properties up to 140 °F. Used in electrical potting and encapsulation, ambient and heat-cured structural adhesives, and composite binders.

Ancamine T

Modified aliphatic amine offering good color and a reduced level of skin irritation relative to most aliphatic polyamines. Used in wet lay-up laminating, tooling, adhesives, and patch repair kits.

Ancamine TEPA

Higher molecular weight ethyleneamine. Lower vapor pressure than other ethyleneamines. Used occasionally in flooring, solution coatings and encapsulation. Compliant with FDA 21 CFR 175.300 and 21 CRF 175.105.

Ancamine TETA

Higher molecular weight ethyleneamine. Lower vapor pressure than other ethyleneamines. Used occasionally in flooring, solution coatings and encapsulation. Compliant with FDA 21 CFR 175.300 and 21 CRF 175.105.
