Hydrogen

Transportation

Air Products' hydrogen bus alongside the GM H2 fuel cell car.
Hydrogen can be used in many different types of transportation either with a fuel cell or in an internal combustion engine to eliminate or significantly reduce emissions.  Fuel cell powered vehicles that turn hydrogen into electricity are quiet, efficient and offer the environmental benefit of only emitting water.

Air Products has taken a leadership position in the development of the hydrogen infrastructure that will be required to fuel these new vehicles.  We are participating in a number of hydrogen energy demonstration projects across the world, supplying hydrogen, project management and safety training capabilities, as well as the design of new hydrogen dispensers and fueling stations.  Recent examples include supplying and fueling hydrogen buses in London and in Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games, plus fueling Boeing's unmanned Phantom Eye unmanned, airborne system demonstrator.
