Ozone use has grown dramatically in recent years. Ozone is a strong disinfectant and oxidant used for various treatment objectives. One main objective has been taste and odor removal. Ozone has also been used by utilities to reduce disinfection byproducts, such as trihalomethanes (THMs), and to improve coagulation, flocculation and filtration.

Air Products has teamed up with ITT-WEDECO, a leading manufacturer of ozone technology, to create a unique range of ozone systems. Complementing the ozone generators are Air Products' technologically advanced on-site oxygen generators. This integrated oxygen-ozone system can lower installation and operating costs for new systems.

The innovation is in the modular design. Customers have the opportunity to select the specific configuration—oxygen supply, ozone generator, injection/contact system, and destruct—as well as the other ancillary equipment that meet their unique ozone needs.
