Air Products' modular aeration systems can be utilized to provide additional capacity for nitrification and de-nitrification in a conventional aeration system. Our systems can be used either in conjunction with, or to replace, existing aeration systems.

Air Products' modular aeration systems accelerate the natural nitrification process in a biological treatment plant by:

• increasing biomass activity by utilizing pure oxygen
• reducing mixing energy allowing increased MLSS concentrations without impacting sludge settleability

Air Products' wastewater team can design a solution utilizing our modular aeration systems to allow the nitrification process to be completed in 16 hours, allowing 8 hours for cycled de-nitrification, thus eliminating the need for an anoxic zone or an additional carbon source.
