Liquid Hydrogen Stations Across California and
Gaseous Hydrogen Stations in Northern California

Friday, September 10, 2:45 p.m. PT

Air Products’ Sacramento liquid hydrogen facility continues to operate and production levels at our Air Products’ New Orleans, Louisiana liquid hydrogen facility continue to increase.

As a result of increased production, we anticipate that drivers of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and the broader hydrogen industrial market will continue to see further improvement in supply levels over the next week, as our national liquid supply chain recovers from the impact of Hurricane Ida. We will continue to provide routine updates until our supply situation returns to normal operations.

We appreciate the continued patience of fueling station owners, automobile manufacturers, drivers, and all stakeholders and will continue to work diligently to both address the issue and provide updates.

We encourage hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle drivers to visit the California Fuel Cell Partnership station status website to get the latest information regarding hydrogen supplies for specific fueling stations.

Air Products’ Sacramento liquid hydrogen facility continues to operate and power has been restored to Air Products’ New Orleans, Louisiana liquid hydrogen facility. We have started producing product out of our New Orleans facility, but are not yet at full production.

We anticipate that drivers of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and the broader hydrogen industrial market will continue to see limited supplies this week as our New Orleans facility ramps up production and our national liquid hydrogen supply chain recovers from multiple disruptions. We will continue to provide routine updates until our supply situation returns to normal operations.

We appreciate the continued patience of fueling station owners, automobile manufacturers, drivers, and all stakeholders and will continue to work diligently to both address the issue and provide updates.

While Air Products Sacramento hydrogen facility continues to operate, our New Orleans, Louisiana liquid hydrogen production facility remains down due to the widespread power outage resulting from Hurricane Ida.  Our team in New Orleans is continuing to work with local authorities to determine when power may be restored and we will provide an updated estimate on return to normal supply conditions as soon as it is known.

With our New Orleans facility not operating, we continue to experience impacts to our national liquid hydrogen supply chain, including the supply of product to the Western states.  We will continue to see limited hydrogen deliveries to hydrogen fueling stations and we will provide an update next week on any changes to the current supply situation.

We also continue to work with our industry partners to attempt to mitigate the impact as best as possible. We appreciate the continued patience of fueling station owners, automobile manufacturers, drivers, and all stakeholders during this time and will continue to work diligently to both address the issue and provide updates.

The Air Products Sacramento hydrogen facility is now operating at full capacity, and we are making limited deliveries to fueling station customers in Northern California as inventory levels are slowly restored due to a backlog of demand. Additionally, the widespread power outage resulting from Hurricane Ida has impacted hydrogen production in the U.S. Gulf Coast, impacting our broader national liquid hydrogen supply chain. We are working with local authorities to understand when power may be restored and will provide an updated estimate on return to normal supply conditions as soon as it is known.

Additionally, we are continuing to work with our industry partners to mitigate the impact as best as possible. We appreciate the continued patience of fueling station owners, automobile manufacturers, drivers, and all stakeholders during this time and will continue to work diligently to both address the issue and provide updates.
