Our Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

In honor of Black History Month and Women’s History Month, we are saluting black heroes and women who are making a difference in our company and our world. At Air Products, we are fully committed to bringing together people from different cultures and backgrounds to collaborate and innovate solutions to the world’s most significant energy and environmental challenges.

Celebrating Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month in February, Air Products employees were invited to participate in a series of virtual events designed to educate and inspire through engagement, dialogue and reflection. These virtual events included a discussion on "The Role of Diversity in Driving Innovation" with a renowned author and speaker; a trivia game to test employees’ Black History STEM knowledge in a fun and friendly way; a three-day viewing and discussion of the acclaimed PBS American Experience film, "Freedom Riders"; and a Gumbo cooking class.

The virtual events were sponsored by Air Products’ Black Employees Resource Group (BERG), part of the company’s Inclusion Network which partners with leadership to create supportive communities that help attract and retain talent, raise cultural awareness, develop critical skills and competencies, and contribute to the company’s diversity and inclusion objectives.

The unique perspectives and experiences our employees bring to their work are essential to meeting our customers’ needs and bringing innovation to the wide range of markets we serve, from food processing to metals processing to transportation. That is why Air Products has set a goal to become the most diverse industrial gas company in the world and why we foster a collaborative and respectful work environment where everyone can achieve their true potential.

Goals for Global Female and U.S. Minority Representation

Goals for Diversity in Professional and Managerial RolesAs part of Air Products’ publicly stated goal of being the most diverse industrial gas company in the world, we are taking another measurable, transparent step towards achieving this objective with new goals to further increase the percentage of females and minorities in professional and managerial roles. By 2025, Air Products aims to achieve at least 28 percent female representation in the professional and managerial population globally, and at least 20 percent minority representation in that same population in the United States. These measures are increases from 25 and 17 percent representation (2020 baseline), respectively.

To achieve this inclusive workplace environment, Air Products has a Diversity, Inclusion & Belong strategy that focuses on four key areas: Attracting and hiring diverse talent; developing diverse talent; cultivating leadership accountability and engagement; and fostering an inclusive culture.
