Celebrating Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month in February, Air Products employees were invited to participate in a series of virtual events designed to educate and inspire through engagement, dialogue and reflection. These virtual events included a discussion on "The Role of Diversity in Driving Innovation" with a renowned author and speaker; a trivia game to test employees’ Black History STEM knowledge in a fun and friendly way; a three-day viewing and discussion of the acclaimed PBS American Experience film, "Freedom Riders"; and a Gumbo cooking class.
The virtual events were sponsored by Air Products’ Black Employees Resource Group (BERG), part of the company’s Inclusion Network which partners with leadership to create supportive communities that help attract and retain talent, raise cultural awareness, develop critical skills and competencies, and contribute to the company’s diversity and inclusion objectives.
The unique perspectives and experiences our employees bring to their work are essential to meeting our customers’ needs and bringing innovation to the wide range of markets we serve, from food processing to metals processing to transportation. That is why Air Products has set a goal to become the most diverse industrial gas company in the world and why we foster a collaborative and respectful work environment where everyone can achieve their true potential.
