Patrick J. Garay

Patrick J. Garay is vice president, Strategic Projects, at Air Products. He is responsible for providing leadership for new strategic investment and asset management project activities.

Mr. Garay joined Air Products in 1984 as an engineer in the company’s Career Development Program. From 1985-1991 he held leadership positions in the company’s Plant Operations group, including manager of International Operations during the company’s early Asia expansion. From 1991-2003 Mr. Garay held a number of commercial roles of increasing responsibility in the company’s Tonnage Gases business, including a four-year assignment in Europe as head of Tonnage Gases Business Development. In 2003 he returned to the U.S. to lead the implementation of SAP for several businesses and was subsequently named director, Supply Chain, for the global Tonnage Gases business. In 2008 Mr. Garay assumed the position of director, Materials and Procurement Operations in the Energy and Materials organization, which included leadership of the company’s three regional operational procurement teams. In 2014 he assumed the role of director, Central Sourcing and Corporate General Services, and was the company’s most senior procurement leader.

Mr. Garay earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering at Lehigh University. He serves as a board member of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME).
