Stocking Fish in Lake Maurepas

In March 2024, Air Products announced a $250,000 donation to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation to fund fish stocking operations in Lake Maurepas. The donation, from the Air Products Lake Maurepas Community Fund, established via its charitable giving affiliate, the Air Products Foundation, is aligned with the Fund’s mission of supporting educational, ecological, and recreational projects in the communities in which we operate.

The $250,000 donation will fund efforts to introduce a large number of young fish to Lake Maurepas in 2024. The stocking will include Largemouth bass, Croppie and Catfish, which can already be found in Lake Maurepas.

Inaugural Grant

The Livingston Parish Fire Protection District #2 and the Manchac Volunteer Fire Department (Tangipahoa Parish) are the recipients of the Lake Maurepas Community Fund's inaugural grants.

Each organization will receive a $400,000 grant to support their first response missions

The funds will be used to facilitate the purchase of new fire patrol and emergency response boats. The boats will bolster emergency response times on the lake, while also contributing to the overall safety for residents, boaters and commercial fisherman on Lake Maurepas.

Lake Maurepas Community Fund

Air Products is committed to being a good neighbor in Louisiana and in all areas where we operate. Our work through the Lake Maurepas Community Fund and the Louisiana Clean Energy Complex further deepens that commitment.

Air Products will commit $1 million
annually—via its charitable giving affiliate,
the Air Products Foundation—to communities bordering Lake Maurepas.

Funding began in 2023 and will continue through the overall operation of the Louisiana Clean Energy Complex,
which is currently anticipated
to be at least 25 years.

Non-profit organizations that support ecological, educational and recreational improvements for those who live, work and visit the Lake Maurepas area are eligible for grants.

Air Products’ Commitment to Louisiana

Our company’s more than 330 Louisiana-based employees perform many volunteer activities and make other contributions to organizations in the communities surrounding our 18 facilities in the state. In addition to promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, Air Products employees in Louisiana support volunteer organizations that improve the lives of people, including the United Way, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, and the IRIS Domestic Violence Center. Not only do we live and work here—we also volunteer here.

Making a Difference for Families in St. John the Baptist Parish

Air Products employees who work at various facilities in South Louisiana recently joined volunteers from local organizations in St. John the Baptist parish to hand out food bags to families with school-aged children in LaPlace, Louisiana. In total, the company’s $35,000 donation and volunteer work helped feed 400 local families who may be struggling this summer with increased food and childcare costs.

Working with the Sheriff, District Attorney and School Board from St. John the Baptist parish government and the local community service organization Blessed to Be A Blessing, Air Products employees packaged food that including bread, milk, cereal and canned goods.   Families also received a Walmart gift card.
