Air Products, a global leading supplier of industrial gases and oxy-fuel technologies, is showcasing its integrated solutions for high-quality, sustainable glass manufacturing, including its latest innovations, at China Glass 2025 in Beijing, China, from May 26-29.
Driven by China's "Dual Carbon" goals and the development of “new quality productive forces,” glass manufacturers are actively seeking ways to enhance performance and sustainability. At the event, Air Products is showcasing its industry-leading integrated solutions, which include high-quality industrial gases, advanced Cleanfire® oxy-fuel burners, diverse and reliable supply modes, application expertise, and decades of oxy-fuel combustion experience. These solutions enable glass manufacturers to achieve higher fuel efficiency, lower nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and improved productivity.
As one of the most influential glass shows in Asia, China Glass 2025 focuses on the theme of "Intelligent Manufacturing, Green Future," and is expected to attract over 45,000 visitors from around the world.
Highlights of Air Products’ exhibits include:
- Intelligent Polishing and Cutting Efficiency Detector (iPCED): Air Products’ iPCED is the latest innovation designed by its Asia Technology Center in Shanghai. This efficient and smart system is tailored to enable tableware and pharmaceutical glass manufacturers to optimize polishing and cutting processes, reduce natural gas consumption and operational costs, and enhance productivity.
- Cleanfire® Energy Recovery Technology: Another recent innovation, this combination of an oxy-fuel combustion system with energy recovery technology can reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions up to 30% compared to an air-fired regenerative glass furnace, while saving fuel and at a low maintenance cost.
- Cleanfire® HRx Burner: This technology has proven to deliver unmatched performance in fuel efficiency improvement, NOx emission reduction and foam decrease in glass melting process. The burner is equipped to handle hydrogen-blended fuels for a lower carbon footprint and employs Air Products’ SMART Technology for remote monitoring and process optimization.
- PRISM® Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA) System: This system provides a highly reliable oxygen supply to meet a broad range of flow requirements, significantly reducing energy consumption and the overall cost of oxygen delivery.
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Simulation: This simulator assesses and optimizes operating processes by leveraging advanced modeling capabilities with data-driven insights to boost combustion efficiency.
“China’s glass industry is accelerating its transition towards green, low-carbon, and high-quality growth,” said Brandon Fu, vice president, Asia Strategy, Marketing & Technology, at Air Products. “Our two latest innovations further upgrade Air Products’ integrated and customized oxy-fuel solutions, supporting glass manufacturers on their sustainability journeys to achieve environmental and economic goals and stay ahead of their competition.”
